My side: Red Pill

 

·      Trinity is super human, she works for/with Morpheus

·      The agents going after her have the same physical abilities

·      They can travel through phone lines

·      Neo is the informant

·      “Follow the white rabbit”

·      Dujour is the white rabbit

·      Neo’s real name is Thomas Anderson and he works at a software company

·      The agents capture him while he is standing on the edge of the building?

·      They know everything about him just as Morpheus and Trinity do

·      The matrix is a disguise of the truth that everyone is a slave

·      Red pill: stay in wonderland and see how far the rabbit hole goes

·      Neo takes the red pill

·      Lots of references to old childrens stories

·      Morpheus runs a physical test, where a mirror consumes him. He wakes up in a vat of gel with tubes attached. Then he falls down and is brought back by a claw, where he ends up in the real world

·      They are rebuilding Neo

·      Cypher nsays that ignorance is bliss

·      The oracle says neo is not the one

·      Cypher turns on the group by siding with the agents and kills Apoc, Switch, and Dozer. 

·      Cypher thinks the Matrix is more of a real world than the red pill world

·      Agent smith says humans are a virus

·      The agents can take over the body of other people

 

Red Pill advantages

·      Neo was able to learn so much in so little time due to the world being unmasked of The Matrix by Morpheus

·      Because he takes the red pill, he is saved by Morpheus and his crew from the real life of living in a vat with tubes everywhere

·      The red pill is the path of philosophy, reasoning, critical thinking, science, and testing

 

Blue Pill counterarguments

·      Neo, or Thomas Anderson, would not be stress or grief-free in the life he lived in the Matrix. We do not face the high stakes that he does, but we have moments of our own that aren’t ideal but are inescapable such as the death of relatives 

·      Ignorance is bliss

 

The matrix influenced so much; this argument is posed in one of the Love Death & Robots episodes

 

Nothing is really random in coding

 

Relates to Ukraine, Iran, and Afghanistan in the present

Love, Death & Robots: Pop Squad Reaction

I really enjoyed watching all of the episodes in class of Love, Death & Robots, but the episode "Pop Squad" stuck out to me the most. Out of all of the episodes, I felt that this one contained and covered a variety of real issues that us as humans face now or could be certain to face in the future.  "Pop Squad" is set hundreds of years in the future where cities expand way above the clouds, and those that are alive have traded the ability to have children in exchange for eternity through a drug called Rejoo. The main job that the police, and one of the main characters Briggs has, is to arrest any "breeders" and kill any children they find. It is not explicitly stated, but can be implied that everyone in this society is supposed to take Rejoo regularly and only those that stop taking the drug are able to either physically have children, or are able to think more freely and less selfishly.  The basis of this episode really made me think about what the fu...

  The original sketch for the poster/PDF. We wanted overall unity for both of these elements of our project. Begining to put together our collage now that we printed photos from the movie. The collage mostly finished. We wanted the quote to stand out because not only is it a driving force of the theme for the movie, but it also relates for how this movie can show a relation to the future. We felt that white would not reflect our project the best. In terms of lighting, the movie is not bright and we wanted to relay that in our poster. By painting the rest of the poster black (thanks to Maddie) we could add splashes of color with white and orange, both of which are symbolic in the movie. We added cotton balls to reflect the fog that the aliens Abbott and Costello live in within their ship. It brings an ominous element that other countries in the movie don't embrace. Hi everyone, my name is Shane Petagna and I'm from Edison, NJ. My life revolves around sports, and it's definitely what I'd consider myself a geek about. No matter what time of the day, I'm probably watching, playing, or reading about sports. Most of the time I'm consuming baseball in some sort of fashion. I also enjoy working out as a way to clear my mind.
