Blade Runner Notes

·      Replicants are robots that are identical to humans but are used as slaves

·      Blade Runners are instructed to kill any remaining replicants in “retirements”

·      The replicants seem to have awkward responses, very unsure of themselves in terms of emotion

·      The replicants are designed with different purposes; a select few have come back to earth and are interested in the Tyrell Corp.

·      Replicants only have a 4-year life span

·      “more human than human”

·      The replicants are becoming more advanced

·      J.F. Sebastian

·      The new replicants, like Rachael, are now being implanted with memories

·      Pris (a replicant) runs into JF Sebastian, a genetic creator and toymaker

·      Incredible image enhancement technology ties one of the images to the animal scale found

·      Most real animals are extinct, so now for food they are bioengineered

·      Deckard hunts and kills the snake girl Zhora, one of the mentioned replicants

·      The police want Deckard to kill Rachael now

·      Rachael saves Deckards life by killing Leon

·      Rachael lets her hair down and becomes much more human looking

·      She won’t kiss Deckard back; he kind of forces her to have sex with her but also perhaps teach her how to be a human

·      The city is supposed to be LA but feels much more like depictions of downtown Tokyo

·      Lots of people have left earth, but freaks can’t pass medical to go up; JF Sebastian is one of them

·      Sebastian does genetic work for Tyrell corporation; says there’s a bit of him in all of the Nexus 6

·      “I think, therefore I am”

·      Pris is very seductive even for a replicant

·      Roy kills Tyrell and JF Sebastian

·      The Bradbury

·      Pris dies pretty stupidly

·      Roy starts howling and mourning Pris instead of going after Deckard

·      Roy stabs a nail through his hand and pokes his head through a chessboard-looking wall in the bathroom

·      Roy has a bunch of small tattoos

·      Roy gets a dove from somewhere

·      Roy stabs himself with the nail

·      “It’s too bad she won’t live, but then again who does?” The other cop who speaks English for the first time

·      Origami unicorn was a call back to Roy’s open-ended answer in the replicant test

·      Based on a short story by Phillip K. Dick potentially

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

PROJECT IDEAS

·      Blade runner background with Orion in the sky

·      Origami/paper plate dove/bird

·      Pris’ face crying and runny makeup

·      Literal iron beam

What will we make it on: cardboard from my TV box
